Martingale Collars are a SAFE general use collar because their design means they won't slip over the dogs head like some flat collars can.

Our Martingales are made from our 3/4" wide (19mm) Soft Hide leather, they are fitted with high quality brass plated hardware and are stitched with heavy duty 277 Commercial thread.

Strong? You bet!

The collar are fitted by opening the buckle, fitting the collar and then adjusting the size of the collar by the buckle. The collar should be worn snug if being used as a training collar, or a slightly looser fit if not.

Unlike a check chain Martingale collars will not choke a dog or place all the impact on the wind pipe, but instead they apply the pressure all the way around the neck.

Please note:

That the type of leather while referring to soft hide, it is stating that the leather comes form the "hide" of the cow and is softer then our premium leather. These are still a high quality leather and while softer then the premium are not a pliable thin suede hide, they are still a strong leather product.

Remember that leather is not an all weather product! You should remove this collar before your dog swims or is wet. The collar will not break but as the water saturates the leather, it will swell and stretch if repeadedly soaked. The brass plating may fade with use.

When checking your dogs collar size please note that our sizing guide is from the first hole of the collar to the last hole of the collar where you will close the collar on your dog’s neck.
When checking for size, measure your dogs’ neck where you wish the collar to sit and from there you will be able to find your size.
