RedLine K9 Yurkiw Protection and Tracking Dog Harness
Named after the New Westminster, B.C. Police K9 Officer 'Dave Yurkiw' that designed it, the Yurkiw patrol and tracking Dog Harness is the most versatile dog harness we have ever built. The Yurkiw dog harness is a favourite with Police K9 officers but can also be used for agitation and/or tracking.
With 4 points of adjustment this harness is extremely versatile. The shoulder and belly straps are made from 1" Biothane and have heavy duty buckles for superior strength and durability. The side adjustment is made with 2" nylon and heavy duty Velcro for comfort while obtaining the perfect fit. The side strap buckle is a 3 point release "cop lock" buckle making the harness easy to put on and take off while providing extra security. The breast plate is made with our high quality latigo leather and padded with thick felt padding.
Note: The Yurkiw dog harness is very similar to our Dual Purpose Patrol and Tracking harness. The main difference is the two additional 'D' rings on either side of the Yurkiw harness that can be used for pulling. Because of the additional 'D' rings this harness can only accommodate the 2" x 4" embroidered badges on the sides. Or one 2" x 8" badge on the vest.
*This harness is designed to use our service dog patches (sold separately). The service dog patches attach to this vest via industrial strength Velcro so they interchangeable.

How To Measure Your Dog
Find your dog's girth, which is the widest point of your dog's chest and rib cage area. Harness size measurements are based on girth, which can vary according to breed. Some dogs, like Boxers, are more deep-chested than others. It is important to accurately measure your dog's girth for the best size possible.
1) Stand over your dog and place one end of the tape measure on his spine, just above the widest part of his rib cage.
2) With your other hand, wrap the tape measure behind his front legs and around his body, going underneath the widest part of his rib cage. Place this end next to the beginning of the tape. Put your thumb on the number that meets up with the beginning of the tape measure. The higher number is the girth measurement.
3) Order the proper harness size based on your dog's girth measurement. If your dog's measurement falls between two different sizes, order the larger size if want to allow room to grow.
Protection and tracking Dog Harness
I have been using this harness for about six months and I love it. It hugs the dog’s shoulders thereby preventing debris from
The bush etc. getting underneath, but allows the dog to move freely and most of all, remain under tight control.
I’ve just ordered a second for a new dog I got last week and I cannot wait to take her and my boy out wearing matching units.
A work about K9 Pro too: they have by far the fastest and most responsive customer service I’ve experienced. Not only online, but you can actually go and visit them too. When I shop I like to feel like my purchase matters, with these guys it does and I’ll be back time and again.
Suitable for a variety of uses and environments, hiking, training, securing them in the car, beach days and bitework. The Velcro patches you can get to stock on are a great idea.
Bought this harness for protection and tracking work with my Malinois puppy, and love it. Chest plate provides great support and the buckles are very secure. Also really like that it accommodates velcro patches if desired.
